Hope all of you had a great summer and a good time. Unfortunately the weather was not always that good
and August has been pretty rainy ... but still I hope you had an easy and relaxing time.
I just came back home from London and I’m proud to say, I have a new single release "Miss Lonely Heart"
The Single and the Video Clip is planned for release somvere about end of September....
Had some really cool and amazing musician working with me on this project.
Great guys, excellent and inspiring musicians...
"Dishan Abrahams" The Bass Player of Sugababes, Christophe Willem and the "First Call" sessions player.
"Geoff Holroyde" The Drummer of Chrissie Hynde ( Pretenders ), Big Linda, also "First Call" sessions player.
"Gabriel Imthurn" String Quartet Arranger, amazing musician, gifted pianist and my dear friend.
Last bat not least...amazing and inspiring Mr. Adrian Hall..
The man who works wit the biggest names in music industry like Robbie Williams, Alicia Keys, Shakira,
The Black Eyed Peas, Tom Jones, Sugababes, Britney Spears.. just to mention a few..
Adrian has produced, recorded and mixed my new single „Miss Lonely Heart"
It's a great fun to work with that guy. We speak the same musically language and we
understand each other from the first moment on. Really, really great collaboration and the teamwork...
To say something about production, I played believe or not 7 different Guitars on this song..!!
Was a great fun recording all different kind of guitars and trying to find the best proper sound for different parts.
I had a Fender Jazzmaster originally from 1962, of course my red Fender Strat, Blade Telecaster, very nice Gibson gold top,
Yamaha SA503 TVL with Bigsby,Taylor Acoustic Guitars and my lemonbirst Gibson Nasch..
Amps that has been used are the Vox AC30 and "THD UniValve " with Adrian Hall custom built speakers....
Truly amazing sounding amps, direct sound and a lots of bite.
As I said, It was a great fun to work with the musician of such caliber!! Mr. Hall made for all of us a very nice atmosphere to work,
was really amazing time and hard work as well but for me to be honest I don’t see it as work, I see it as a dreams come true.
I hope you going to like the new song, at the moment we are working on the script for a video clip of " Miss Lonely Heart " and I hope
everything's gonna be alright and the release will be as planed somvere about end of September...

I just wanted to give you a quick update! There is so much going on lately, I simply can't find enough free minutes to write it all down.
Kirsty and I are extremely busy traveling and promoting Kirsty's album! We've crossed Switzerland upside down in the past few weeks.
I have to tell you that I'm not even feeling tired or exhausted because I'm having a great time and the experience is more than amazing!
I'm truly blessed to be able to work with Kirsty, the atmosphere is very relaxed and we're having a blast. It's very interesting to see her work as
an artist, she is indeed a very talented singer and songwriter! I hope that she will have a huge success with this album, she truly deserved it and the
material is exceptionally good!
In order to see a little part of the work we are doing lately, I thought I'd show you some of the performances.
Time has passed as if it was a dream. Christmas is coming and the Year 2009 is slowly rolling out. It was a good year,
extremely busy but then again also very interesting and exciting, with all my ups and downs.
Of course I've had my own share of ups and downs, good and bad things that happen in everyone life's.
I personally think of them as a learning process.
Rises and falls are to be expected in life, that doesn't make the falling parts any easier but every time I hit the ground,
good Lord gives me the power to stand up on my feet again . It is the mixture of these ups and downs that make me the person that I am.
Yes, I have to say that life has been good to me and I truly feel blessed and thankful for my health, for my strength to
live, being able to share love and being privileged to work hard towards my dreams.
While talking about being truly blessed and privileged, here is a little story about a wonderful and unique female singer
"Kirsty"
Only a few days ago I've received a phone call from Universal Music Switzerland. They were looking for a guitar
player who will join the Universal Music singing artist "Kirsty"on her Unplugged Promotion Tour. So I made an
appointment with the Universal promotion management. I have to say they are really, really nice people! and it seems
to me like they're one big family or something similar to that. As I already mentioned: really amazing and astonishing people.
After hearing just a few bars of Kirsty's brand new single „Don't Say“ I thought:" wow, that's cool man, sounds amazing!!!"
We met each other at Playground Recording Studios, spent some time rehearsing and then we hit the road!
Well, in all my years as a musician while I was studying, making it and being seriously into music, I've met a lot of
really great artist singers and all kinds of musicians. I have to say that Kirsty is one of those female singers who are
blessed with a beautiful voice that has incredible feeling, emotion and passion. But Kirsty is not just a singer, she is a
complete artist, the songs that she sings are being written by herself. Kirsty has even written songs for other artists like All Saints.
Like „Black Coffee”, An All Saints major single release. It became their fifth and most recent #1 single in the UK.
I have a huge respect for artists who walk into a radio station, stand in front of the microphone and perform live and unplugged!!
And that was exactly what Kirsty did!! And she did it day after day, the whole week long! RESPECT!!
Hey folks, check out Kirsty's brand new single „Don't Say” , you're gonna love it!!
Dear Kirsty, Thank you so much for giving me your trust! It's been an honor working with you.
I truly feel blessed and privileged to be a small puzzle in your music journey.
I wish you an amazing future and great success in your music career, I just can't wait to listen to your debut album.
Good luck to you and all the best!
Ladies and gentlemen. Boys and girls. Children of all ages,
On my numberless journeys I met some very interesting people and learned some really important
lessons that are still helping me in guiding my life. As you may have noticed every now and then
I write a few words about some of my inpressions.
Few days ago Mr.Rocco Umbescheidt one of the firs founder of Govinda Development Aid Association
invited me to a book vernissage "Die Kinder von Shangri La"
Rocco explained me what is Govinda about, a group of people who helping people In Nepal
they are building schools, halping people in need and doing a lots of really good thing up there.
It'd be great if you could perform your instrumental song "Can't finde my way back home" he said and so I went to the
Basel to a book vernissage "Die Kinder von Shangri La"
Now, let me introduce to you Mr. Rocco Umbescheidt and Govinda Development Aid Association
”If we do not help each other,
who would help us then?”
Looking back it seems unreal. In 1997, six young people in Germany had a dream of supporting a small
orphan project in Nepal. Beside the initial limitation on 15 children and 3 employees nothing was fixed in those days.
All just started, driven by the idea, that our world can be changed through our action.
Nobody could ever imagine that one day, in cooperation with Shangri-La and diversified means of support more
than 5000 people in 8 projects would benefit.
In a moment like this, looking back at 11 years of cooperative development aid we are made aware that
this all started with a small but encouraged initial step. And all the people who are contributing to our
projects are a living example that dreams can become true if we help each other.
By realizing important developmental interrelations and background we had no other choice than to act
and to help others in a sustainable way. And to act means not only the realization of 8 projects for more
then 5000 people right now, to act means also to work with our European and Nepalese members and
staff for a more conscious understanding of a globalized world, where the steps of each ones counts and
creates the picture of this world every day new.
After 11 years we can say that we developed the projects from a charitable to sustainable structures and
that we met hundred, if not thousand of people who joined us and became a important part of Govinda
and Shangrila. Self determination, independence, partizipation, networking and sustainable solutions
became leading concepts and ideas on this Journey, still founded on the basic motivation of the first
years: injustice which is still present allover the world and needs to be solved.
Locking back, I can see that a idea, idealistic dreams and feelings can be lived and transformed into
reality and that impossible things can become true.
Before this year ends where this brochure will be published, 36 Million of people (one third of them
children) will have died on hunger and starvation, everyone of them like us equipped with a identity, a right
to live and equality, with feelings and hope. Nothing else then the coincidence where they have been born
divides us and our relatives from this fortune. Lets us use this gift to help each other in Nepal , Germany
and in a global community as well.
”There is enough room for everybody on this planet. We just have to share it.”
– Rocco Umbescheidt – Chairperson of Govinda Development Aid Association –
I hope life is treating you well and everything Is good.
Yeah.... unfortunately the Summer is gone. It was relaxing and nice time for me, nothing to worry about just sunshine and lot of fun.
Summer is the time of the year where I reduce all my business activity to the minimum, except Im on the tour of course.
The life is just one and I will enjoy it as long as I can and I feel happy about every day on the earth.I truly do.
I had a lot of good friends over here, we went for fishing, swimming, mountain climbing and of course barbecue! all kinds of Barbecue :-)
My best friend and one of my favorite guitar players and my teacher as well Ron van Beijnen from holland was also here,
we spend a few days together visiting some beautiful places over here in Switzerland and at the end of the day barbecue of course :-)
Yep! I had a great summer and I am deeply grateful and thankful for every single day .
Now a little story about someone who really surprised me, a story about how the world became very small place.
First of all thank you so much for all your emails, I feel lucky and privileged to still be a part of your Interests!
and I promise you I will always write you back.Sometimes it's gonna take a few days becouse im on the road and bussy
but I will always write you back.
A few weeks back I received a email, somebody ask me a question "How or where do we buy your CD's? "
The email address from the sender was not included in the email sent, so i could not write back, but fortunately the sender left his signature.
By googling the name and that took just a few seconds because his name was on the top of the first google page, I was completely suprised!!
I thought it was a joke, someone is trying to be funny. But somehow, I couldn't quite think about it, just couldn't let it be so I decided to email him.
I asked him if he was the one who send me the email and to my surprise he wrote back.
Dear Mandango,
You did in fact get the correct Ed.......
Yes I know, all of you are wondering now who is the man I talking about??
yesterday afternoon I asked him, hey Ed, would you mind if I mention you complete name in my Blog?
And the answer was,
"If you feel it will help by all means write whatever you like about me as long as it is nice".
Dear Ed, Thank you for having placed your trust in me!
I decide not to mention you complete name because I dont want to use you name
for advertising and my public relations, to me the most important thing is that you like my music
and that we keep in touch without any business purpose.
Thank you so very much for your invitation. It is my pleasure and I'm longing to see you this dezember in Los Angeles!!
The first and most Important Ed is a very nice and interesting person.
Great Artist, and among many other things acclaimed Motion Picture and Televison Production Designer for many many years.
Some of the shows this Emmy nominee has been associated with include:
The Tonight Show, General Hospital, Bill Cosby, Cheers, Taxi, Night Court, Emerli and The John Larroquette Show.
Ok, I guess that's more than enough.
Dear Friends, I dont make any difference between the people, never did and never will and anyone who personally knows me will confirm you my words.
But I also must say that It is not trivial and It doesn't happen everyday to me that someone like Ed who is working all his life with Hollywood scene and
all kind of different amazing artist ask me "How or where do we buy your CD's? " You know what I mean?! and I bet you will feel the same if would happen to you.
Yes, the world became very small place.
Yeah Folks, Thank you so much for dropping over and checking me out,
I wish you all a great time by doing what ever you enjoy to do. As long it is human and not against a low of course :-)
It's been a while since I wrote my latest news.
I hope you all are doing well!
I spend last few months of my life out of the studio.
Toured the west coast and southwest for about 4 weeks in the spring, and then
headed out on a 7 week tour of the middle Europe made a lot of good friends in the process.
Now I'm back and going to take few weeks of for the summer holidays.
I was extremely fortunate to see one of my biggest guitar influences my guitar hero Ry Cooder.
It was amazing performance at the Kongresshaus in Zürich with Nick Lowe and on the drums his son Joachim Cooder.
Beginning to the end one of the greatest concerts of my life!
Even the support act, Juliette Commagere (not an easy job specially when you opening for Ry Cooder) was great.
She has an amazing voice, on the drums was her husband Joachim Cooder.
I must confess, have never heard about her before, so I thought
what a great opportunity to be on the tour with such a legend like Ry Cooder!!
Who fascinates me the most was a very talented and exceptionally gifted guitar player
Eamon Ryland (www.eamonryland.com ) unbelievable great tone and amazing way of playing.
I met him after the show and actually I didn't want to bother him and bore with
always the same questions about the tour and being on the road and stuff like that.
I just wanted to congratulate on a successful event and was on the way home.
Eamon was so friendly he offered me a cigarette and we were talking for a while.
A truly great person and the amazing guitar player and musician.
Hey Eamon thank you so much man it has been a pleasure to meet you.
Wishing you all the best in your musical journey and hope to see you someday.
Life is good, hectic, but I like it that way.
I have allot of things in early stages of planning
Got some great players lined up and will let ya know when I am conformed.
As I said, I'm back in the saddle. I'm writing and playing all week. Got some great stuff
already for the new record. I am gonna write a bunch of songs and pick the best 10.
I ain't trying to write "top 40" as radio won't play anything new from me,
Yeah..., the new record will have a harder edge but I love the grooves and harmonies,
something lacking in a lot of rock n roll these days, whatever "rock n roll" means anymore.
but Im still at the beginning of the journey and I'm curious where the ride gonna lead me.
About the sound, well there is a large selection of great custom Amps that I like
And Now ... Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you The True Artist
Mister Jeff Albeck guitar builder from Agoura Hills California
Check Out this beautiful Custom Relic Strat he made. It sounds like a dream and it looks
damn cool! Another amazing creation from Jaxs Garage!!
Thank you so much Jeff for making such a beautiful Guitar and giving me new
Inspiration, challenge and spirit through the great sound of this amazing
Instrument. a mega success! Back
Can't find my way back Home MANDANGO's New Video Clip!
Hello Folks!
I am REALLY excited. The instrumental song "Can't find my way back home" from my latest album "Stranger" become a
very cool Video Clip.
A couple weeks ago I met amazing young Move maker and independent film producer Mr.Andreas Rüesch from Rüesch
Productions. www.rueeschproductions.blogspot.com
I hear about him but never had opportunity to meet the man. Andy was also the producer of the current documentation
videos of the Zurich Airport, historical flight from the last MD-11 aircraft from the airline "Swiss", motorcycle-event in
Switzerland "Love Ride" just to mention a few.
I was amazed by what I saw!! The music was melting into the movie and the movie was melting in to the music!! no tricks no
effects just moving emotions. So I decided to give the man a call.
He told me to send a track and few days after I become a phone call back, Andy called and said that he really like the song.
The script was finished in two weeks and Andy invited me on shooting location.
One day of shooting by minus seven degrees (-7°C). I feel like I'm dying inside, trying to get the feeling back into my frozen
fingers that just didn't want to move anymore but Andy has such energy!!!!
He hunted me from one hill to another, let's try this, Do that, Come on man move your bud! What a hell are you doing!
Do you call that acting? Are you joking? Are you kidding me?!! And so on...and so on... o man I thought about the song
You're In the Army Now :- ) hahahhaaaaaa...
I'm telling you, the man is professional and he is controlling every second of the movie, knowing exactly what he wants to
see and knowing exactly where he wants to be. Amazing!!!!!!!!!
A true artist without compromises and I feel blessed to work with such a people like Andy!
Yeah, It was cold and it was hard to stay a whole day outside by such a temperature but we Didn't Give A Damn!
Only thing that counts is the result and I am very proud to show you the results of the Music Video Clip

Comment from music reviwer Oliver Schweizer to the Mandango's brand new Album "STRANGER"
MANDANGO "Stranger"
"Stranger", Mandango's brand new album is ruled by the guitar.
And when Mandango in "Wedding Ring" screams 'Let me play my guitar', he really means it.
Mandango eats, drinks and breathes his guitar.
That's why we don't miss the singing parts in the three instrumentals.
Mandango prefers to let his guitar do the speaking and it really roars, whispers and begs us from every pore of the loudspeaker.
'Stranger' was recorded in Powerplay —studio in collaboration with numerous international musicians
and it convinces primarily through songs, not guitar solos.
On "Stranger" Mandango lets everything out. It is his most personal and most honest album so far.
The characteristic of this album is the immense passion which
he uses to caress his six strings as well as his vocal cords is constant whether it is a straight blues rock song ("Wedding Ring"),
an energetic dance number ("The jungle"), sorrowful, almost floating instrumentals ("Can't find my way back home")
or hurting and very intense ballads ("Winding Road").
Passionate arrangements and the use of Hammond organs, the piano and of course a plethora of warm and earthy vintage
guitar sounds for which Mandango had to dig into his darkest and most dusty part of the basement, but which
make this album a listening pleasure that's addictive...
Oliver Schweizer
MANDANGO "Stranger"
Ob Straighter Bluesrocker ("Wedding Ring"), folkig-knurrende Tanzummer ("The jungle")
wehmütige, fast schwebende Instrumentals ("Can't find my way back")
With this record, I think, anything goes. I was a lot more open and without making any compromise
without dealing with corporate middle-men while making sure his fans get exactly what they want
and not be screwed out of their money.
Without a major label pressured, or make a record simply for a record company or for mass
consumption.
I've been longing and waiting to make this kind of record for years and years...........
but I guess, the time was not right until now…..
and I got something to say cause It's fucking terrible and heartbreaking what is happening in the world
we're living in, so much that it makes me feel just too fucking sad.
Racism and the hate, Killing and wars in the name of Lord and religions.
Yes, I know that you guys may say that I'm preaching Same Old Story, but this is exactly what I mean.
History will teach us nothing! Sad but fucking true!!
But we are all soul brothers and sisters and the music is universal religion.
Search for love is the search for God. Unconditional love.
This Album is dedicated in loving memory of Jeff Healey one of those people that I really adore,
always did and always will.
Rest in Peace Man................ Back
The Production of my New Album is Finish !!
I'm so glad about it. It's been a long year of working but also a cool time that Im never gonna forget!
Here is a small Video Clip "The Complete Video" some of recording & mixing moments
so you can see me suffering, sweating and jumping all over the place :-)
The new album is coming soon and it will be also available for download on the iTunes Stores
all over the world.
Yeah Folks!!!
Firstly I would like to THANK YOU ALL for your support and the believe!!!!
Thank YOU so much for still staying with me and visiting my web page!
I feel lucky and privileged to be a part of your Interests.
It's been a while since I wrote my latest news.
In between we recorded a lot of songs. But after 2 months writing and recording
I choosed only five of them that I'm gonna put on my new Record.
I also decided that I'm gonna have not more than 8 songs on the whole cd
cause I'm not a fucking Popstar that must have 15 songs on a record!
It has been found difficult and extremely hard to find the right people with the right grove and feeling to record with.
A lot of recording sessions turned out really hard and I was disapointed how many
people that call themself profesional are not able to really control their instruments.
For that reason I had to play more than 85% of the material by myself.
That took me so much time and energy that I decided to take a little break until I'm gonna
start with the second part of the recording session.
Although I have to say that I'm really satisfied and happy with my recorded material.
It sounds exactly like I expected.
There's a lot of guitar playing, bottleneck and slide guitar combined with
cool old school guitar amps and sounds from the 60's and 70's.
I hope you gonna like it too.
Ok Folks thank you so much for still being with me and visiting my webside.
You gonna hear from me soon. I' ll try to keep you updated whenever I'm able to.
First order of business is pre-production for about a week, where all the songs written for the record will be looked at from all angles to make sure that they are all done and finalized with the right tempos and parts, before they lay down the foundation of the tracks with drums.
Some of the bass lines I decided to play by myself and for the rest I'll try to get different bass and the drum players as possible,to keep the energy and different influence of playing, grooving and going on.
For the guitar sound I made a large selection and end up with the opposite result by using Messa Boogie Lone Star Special 2X12 ,the VOX AC30 CC2X Blue Bulldog and the VOX AC50CP2 Amps.Just great full range and FAT Soud!!!
The songs that I wrote and we gonna record on this album are guitar based, some guitar Istrumentals and some vocal stuff as well.
The emails I have gotten last few months have been quite with the same questions over & over!! We miss you'r guitar! Why dont you play more guitar ???
So, for all those people who ask for more guitar sound, You gonna hear me play the guitar more than ever.
I'll try to keep you guys updated and I Thank you all for your Support and the Bunch of emails with all your questions and cool ideas. I feel privilegd to be a part of your Interests.
