MANDANGO Swiss artist of Croatian descent.
Musician without airs and graces or need of glamour.
He's very likeable and in no way arrogant.His main goal
isn't becoming a superstar.All he wants is to create
beautiful music and he's very happy if his audience
knows how to appreciate that.
Mandango began to play the guitar,influenced by guitar
heroes from the 60's and the 70's.
He grew up in Croatia in a small town where the blues
and rock has a meaner, harsher age. His playing combines
the essence of rock, blues and country and reflects a
combination of British and American styles mixed with his
Croatian descent.
Guitar players especially important to Mandango include
Ray Cooder, Rory Gallagher,Johnny Winter.
Many of his songs spotlight the styles of these great
performers.Listen to his atmospheric and soulful guitar
work and you'll know that Mandango also cites
Mark Knopfler as an influence.
But it's Mandango's own volcanic guitar playing, spirit,
power, creativity and massage that's such a knockout.
Mandango launched his first single "One Man Story"
back in 1996 and one year later (1997) debut album
"Dancing with the memories".
In 2005 he changed his stage name from Eric Goran
to Mandango,a name that symbolized the shift in
his lifestyle. In 2007 he relists his first
Mandango album "Naked flame",
written and produced
by the artist himself.
